  • Never mix different brands of paint in the same bottle. Most companies have their own solvents in the paint that may react with other brands.
  • When air brushing acrylics keep a spare bottle filled with alcohol handy. When the airbrush clogs switch to the alcohol jar and spray to clean out the clog. Remember to remove the bottle and spray any residual out before returning to the color jar.
  • Never shake acrylic paint, it will form bubbles.
  • To prevent paint lids from sticking wipe off the top of the bottle and use a few drops of thinner to remove paint from the inside of the cap
  • Alcohol can be used to thin most acrylic paints. Always test a small amount.
  • To paint very small details such as cockpit knobs, ect. try using a toothpick instead of a brush.
  • Make sure acrylic paint is completely cured before masking. The tape can lift uncured paint.
  • To remove some of the adhesive from any tape, first apply to a clean glass surface until you are happy with the amount of adhesive left.
  • If you have ever knocked over an open paint jar you might want to try putting the bottle inside the center on a roll of electrical tape.
  • Baby wipes can be used to clean super glue from plastic surfaces.
  • Alcohol can be used to remove some types of paint before sealer is applied.
